Not only is designing on illustrator an important skill but also creating a garment from scratch is a skill not taken lightly. For this garment I measured a desired bust size and added tolerance for the fit to be loose and drape down for the look. At the top and bottom hem I added elastic and finished it with a 5/8" gauge cover stitch. At the end it looked pretty close to what I had envisioned at first.
